A sort of Ulysses, who ends his wanderings in the arms of a woman who has waited all his life. A peasant boy devoured by desire, constantly prey to its swirling choices. A life lived in the illusion of being himself and reveals that, sadly, not a life.
This is essentially the play Peer Gynt, real person, told by the genius of Ibsen while he was traveling between Rome , Sorrento and Ischia. Five acts staged for the first time in 1876 in Oslo on the music of Edvard Grieg's original, thanks to the evocative power of sound and the lure of Nordic folk songs, the music mixes with the atmosphere fantastic and busy history.
As part of the activities of cultural exchange between Italy and Norway, the Festival of Vinstra, a city in Gudbrandsdalen in Norway, arrives with the "street theater", in honor of Ibsen's most beautiful resorts in Campania Ravello, Ischia , Amalfi and Sorrento.
"Bukkerrittet-Riding the Reindeer", produced by the Company As Perry Gynt, is the modern interpretation of the first part of the drama of Ibsen and Grieg's musical score. A show that combines elements of dance music at the Norwegian acrobatic, new circus / breakdance and capoeira. A spectacular event that gives the viewer "the crazy ride of Peer Gynt on the back of the reindeer as it descends the steep slope of the mountain" in an exciting "journey through visions and dreams-through battles, victories and knowledge."
L ' Sorrento appointment is for Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at 22.00 in Piazza Sant'Antonio.
