The history of Correale museum

Visit the Correale Museum, hosted inside the villa of same name in Sorrento, is like visiting an angle of Paradise.
The Villa, surrounded by a marvellous garden – rich of orange groves and secular plants, is privileged by a wonderful view overlooking the Sea of Sorrento, the Gulf of Naples and the Vesuvius, a splendid overhanging beauty.
That is the reason it is also considered as an “Atmosphere” Museum.
The wonders of nature and panorama are only the landscape  in which this jewel of private collection is placed into in the City of Poet Tasso.
Infact, Correale di Terranova Museum is being considered as one of the most beautiful regional museums of Italy.
In its interior, it is possible to admire over 1200 square meters of exhibit areas rich in fabulous art collections and a particular collection gathered by the last descendents of an ancient noble family from Sorrento: Alfredo and Pompeo Correale.
Strolling along the rooms of the 17th century building, it is not difficult to remain dazzled  in front of artefacts of unique splendor, distributed with impeccable taste and enabling a sense of diversity.
Quite embarrassing, with the complex, is the quantity of archaeological pieces, from inlaid wood work masterpieces, majolica, Neapolitan, English and Venetian furniture, Murano glass, Bohemian crystal, clocks and even photo cameras.
An honorable place surely hosts not only one of the most important collection of porcelain of Europe, but a beautiful gallery with some of the most stupendous paintings done by masters of the Posillipo School  of Naples, Flemish and Dutch artists from the 17th century and landscape painters from the 15th through 18th centuries.
Noted for such prestigious artworks, masterpieces and curiosities, the Museo Correale di Terranova, therefore, is the crib for all that is beauty.
Visit this museum for the first time is a as pleasurable as when you re-visit it. Its variety and particularities, in fact, are such that each visit carries some new discoveries or appreciation to specific details of a priceless art work patrimony capable of enchanting not only tourists but also refined Art experts.
