The historical quarter of Sorrento cannot be missed.  There, happiness is among the shops ready to satisfy every tourist wish and need, at the fascinating monuments as Sedil Dominova and the Cloister of San Francesco (St. Francis) and the surroundings of  the beautiful artistic and architectural religious sites as the Cathedral and churches of Sant'Antonino, Servi di Maria, Santi Felice and Baccolo and Santa Maria delle Grazie.
Along the small, but attractive streets that leave the heart of Sorrento, some catalunian  gate style influence and gothic elements are part of the sight. An exquisite collection of Art is avaialble at Terranova de Correale Museum along with a painting collection from the School of Posilippo and local porcelain from the past centuries, efforts of the count that was honored by having his name as the title of the museum.
Any Sorrento itinerary cannot be considered completed without a quick stop at the Deep Valley of Mills to admire the Old City Walls or to the Roman Ruins in the Area of the Baths of Queen Giovanna.
What visitors see is in general an Ancient Sorrento worth a visit, together with other interesting surroundings to be explored, a privilege for those who visit the Pearl of the Gulf of Naples.
Due to its strategic position and a useful and quite efficient network of public transportation, it is quite convenient and quick to reach the Isle of  Capri: known as the most beautiful island in the Mediterranean Sea, as well as visiting the charming beautiful islands of Procida and Ischia.
Not to mention the opportunity to tour the famous archeological ruins of Pompeii, Herculaneum, the Flegrei Area and the trendy Amalfi Coast.
Sorrento is ideally located as a base place in order to move to any direction: towards Positano, Ravello and Amalfi, or to Naples, and even Pozzuoli, Baia, Capo Miseno and Bacoli.
